本片憶及1960年代黑人民權運動過程和麥格艾佛斯、麥爾坎X和金恩博士三大精神領袖遭到暗殺的事件。紀錄且刻畫時代裡試圖改革社會的重要人物，爬梳歷史從古至今因無知造就的隔閡與悲痛，更見證美國民權運動的血淚奮鬥史。作品改編自美國作家詹姆斯鮑德溫未完遺作《謹記此屋》，透過導演哈烏佩克接手影像化，並由山謬傑克森獻聲旁白，交織出真切又撼動人心的光影篇章。
